doctor mom…
I have sicky babies.
Piper started out with a sore throat and an earache on Monday morning and she had some dry heaves mid-morning. Obviously, she stayed home from school yesterday and I got her a doctor’s appointment this morning. She has an ear infection and strep-throat. The doctor prescribed some antibiotics and eardrops for the pain in her ear. When I got home, DaDa (blake) was home and he wasn’t feeling so hot either. He took one look at Piper and then looked back at me… he said “Time for some of Mommy’s Magic Soup, I think”. I thought so, too. I make pretty fabulous homemade chicken noodle soup. Lots of chicken and veggies and just the right spices…. lots and lots of noodles too! I started straight away and let it cook for about eight hours – it was a hit. The boys and DaDa and my sick little girl loved it lots – so did DaDa’s friend, Patrick – he joins us for dinner a lot these days.
About halfway through dinner – Joshua said his throat is feeling scratchy, too. Getting him to take any kind of liquid medicine is just out of the question – seriously. He will gag at the mere mention of it. So, I’m thinking there is a doctor’s visit in my future tomorrow so that I can get Joshua started on some antibiotics – in pill form, of course. 🙂
I went to register for my classes for Summer semester today. I will be taking Biology with a Lab, Philosophy, Nutrition, and Medical Terminology. That should keep me busy. I am really excited about all four classes – Come on, Summer! I’m also taking an elective kayaking class and bellydance! woohoo! I had a lovely moment with the lady in the office at CMC. I will write more about it later, but I left with a huge smile on my face. She basically looked at me after she entered my information into the computer and said “Something is different about you – you seem calmer and happier – there’s a sense of peace about you that wasn’t always there” … she’s right. Thank God, she is right.
Ok – well I have two sick babies (three if you count DaDa) to take care of and dishes to wash – not to mention the last bit of homework I have left for Winter Semester, I can’t believe it’s already coming to an end!
I hope everyone’s Tuesday was fabulous… Mine was, even though it was hectic. It’s hard to describe – I’m just a happy girl these days. Happier than I’ve ever been.
Happy, centered, calm and joyful…that’s how I feel –
and it feels so good.
